Development of the Poreč Sports Airfield (RPSU Škagacer)
Development and operational maintenance of the Poreč Sports Airport (RPSU Škagacer) as a key aviation infrastructure for sports, public safety and emergency services, with continuous availability 24/7.
Poreč Sports Airport (RPSU Škagacer) represents a key infrastructure and security point for the City of Poreč and the wider area of western Istria. Aeroclub Cumulus continuously ensures the operational readiness and orderliness of the airport area, enabling the safe use of the aviation infrastructure for sports, training and intervention activities.
The airport is used as a permanent reception location for emergency medical flights of the Croatian Helicopter Medical Service (HHMS / HEMS), with Aeroclub Cumulus voluntarily performing the role of ensuring the safety of the landing and take-off zone, with readiness 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Over the years, a significant number of emergency medical interventions have been carried out at this location, saving numerous human lives without any safety incidents.
In addition to medical interventions, Poreč Airport is technically and operationally capable of accepting firefighting aircraft of the Air Tractor type, including the ability to supply water, firefighting equipment and fuel for the needs of intervention activities.
The development and maintenance of this infrastructure has multiple values: improving citizen safety, strengthening the resilience of the local community in crisis situations, and contributing to the long-term development of sports and general aviation in the Republic of Croatia.
Rezime
The project is being implemented in accordance with applicable aviation and sports regulations and in cooperation with local and national institutions, with continuous compliance with safety and operational standards.
